Top 5 Moments of September 2022

Although notorious for being a slump period for armies, there was no such drop this September. Wars raged, an army re-emerged, and the Legends Cup finally made its long-awaited debut. After a busy September, what were the Top 5 Moments?

The Club Penguin Armies media team recently hosted an internal staff vote to determine what we collectively believed to be the ‘Top Five Moments‘ from September 2022. This includes moments that have resulted in a significant impact on the community as a whole, whether that be a war, retirement, or scandal.

5. Army of Club Penguin Celebrate 16th Anniversary

Written by: Mac

On September 29, the Army of Club Penguin celebrated its 16th anniversary. Oagaltrop founded the Army of CP in 2006, and the army quickly lived up to its iconic history, winning numerous wars and tournaments. Notably, they won the Holiday Championships against the Rebel Penguin Federation in January 2020 and emerged victorious in the recent Beach Brawl II tournament hosted by the Club Penguin Armies.

The Clovers held several events during the last week of the month to celebrate this historic achievement. Calgocubs, the 49th Commander, told CP Armies reporters that he feels “unreal to even think that ACP has been around for 16 years.” Despite their downs and ups, they are still pushing forward and fighting on their way back to the top.

4. Army of CP Reclaim Major Status

Written by: ActionSpark

A powerhouse in this community, the Army of Club Penguin lost its major status following notable staff members’ retirements and a gradual dip in size. To bring the army back to its former glory, Project: Revival began on July 13, with many veterans and retired army staff returning to help it grow. A lot of time, blood, sweat and tears were poured into the army with the hopes of once again becoming a major army. On September 4, they enjoyed the fruits of their labor as the army again attained major status.

3. Special Weapons and Tactics Sign Force Treaty After Losing Their 4-Way War

Written by: Comedy

On August 23, the Special Weapons and Tactics found itself against the world as four major armies declared war. The standouts from the group declaration were the Army of CP and the Rebel Penguin Federation, although the Rebels ended their alliance. Skipping most scheduled battles, SWAT was on the war’s losing side, which led to Strawhats throwing their proverbial hat into the ring. When SWAT quickly surrendered to the Strawhats, the administration team convened and determined the move was malicious. Thought to be a means of evading the war, SWAT was forced to surrender to the Help Force, Ice Warriors, Water Vikings, and Templars. The victors subsequently split SWAT’s remaining servers.

2. Strawhats Declare War on Entire Army Community

Written by: Comedy

Just as one war ended, another began. Shortly after SWAT surrendered to their adversaries, the Templars declared war on the Strawhats and Mercenaries. Since the original war term by Mercenaries stating “no outside interference” was deemed invalid by the Army Board, the war moved forward. Strawhats’ reaction was simple: on September 24, they would declare war on the entire army community. Little came of the war, however, and the Strawhats could not invade or defend a single piece of land. Eventually, the Strawhats scheduled their final event as an army, forfeiting their remaining territory to the Templars.

1. Legends Cup XII Launches

Written by: Nicky

After some delay, Club Penguin Armies announced the annual Legends Cup XII on September 24. This year, the Legends Cup will run for three weeks as six armies compete to win the trophy in the grand finals on October 15. Although most armies agreed to participate, a notable exception was the Ice Warrior. After seeding, the Templars and Water Vikings received a bye straight to the semi-finals. This left the Rebel Penguin Federation facing the Special Weapons and Tactics in the Northern Conference and Help Force against the Army of Club Penguin to clash in the Southern Conference.
