Top 5 Moments From January 2022

KLONDIKE, CP Army Headquarters – As the first month of 2022 draws to a close, the CP Army HQ staff team are excited to present the Top 5 Moments from January.

The CP Army HQ staff team recently held an internal vote to decide what we collectively believed to be the ‘Top Five Moments‘ from January 2022. This includes moments that have resulted in a significant impact on the community as a whole, whether that be a war, retirement or scandal.

5. Templars Crowned 1st on Top Ten Armies of January

Written by: DMT

Starting off the list is a recent one, though its significance cannot be understated; The Templars achieved a monthly score of 99 on the first Monthly Top Ten of 2022. The Templars had a dominant January, placing first on every January Top Ten except one.  With the next closest army, the Ice Warriors, accumulating a score of 93, the ranking served as proof to the community that the golden knights are the cream of the crop when it comes to all of the major armies in the army world.  This also serves as the first time the Templars placed first in the monthly Top Ten, furthering the notion that the current heights for the army are unprecedented.

4. Fire Warriors Leader Pranav Banished Following Attempted Defection

Written by: Max

The Fire Warriors made the headlines several times across January, but the banishment and attempted defection of leader Pranav made it into the top five moments of the entire month. CP Army HQ broke the news and exclusively revealed his undercover mission for moral justice, after coming to blows with the rest of the leadership. Warriors ‘Re-creator’ Sweater sensationally released a administrative statement exposing the behind-the-scenes happenings within the army, accusing Pranav of attempting to “destroy” the army by encouraging other staff to also defect with him. However, in his interview with CP Army HQ’s Max, he revealed a contradicting story to Sweater’s narrative. While the Fire Warriors leadership label his actions as betrayal, Pranav has instead stated he was on a moral justice mission. But despite his attempts, the Fire Warriors remained intact and Pranav was banished from the army and stripped of his Hall of Fame award, choosing to reside in the Templars higher command.

3. Yukon Share HTML5 Source Code; CP Army Battleground Development Relaunches

Written by: Myth

Private Servers emergence after the closure of Club Penguin has kept armies alive. While the abrupt shutdown of Adobe Flash sent shockwaves throughout the community, a new private server has emerged, and has shared their source code to better help the community. On January 25th, Yukon announced their finished project, an HTML rendition of the original Club Penguin. With their release of the source code, others can use it to create their own servers. One private server to do so is CPA Battleground, run by Superhero123. With ambitions high, the development of CPA Battleground has resumed due to the release of Yukon’s source code.

2. AUSIA Arena Tournament Launches; United Media Form For Media Coverage

Written by: Scorpion Demon

The AUSIA Arena Tournament was the second AUSIA tournament ever organized in the history of Club Penguin armies. It also happens to be the first ever community-run AUSIA tournament. The coverage of the entire event was taken over by United Media, which is a joint collaboration between CP Army HQ and CP Army Network. United Media announced the event to the community on January 19th. The announcement received a lot of praise, as the AUSIA community had been neglected in terms of tournaments ever since December 2020, which saw the Army of CP organize Aces of AUSIA. The tournament successfully completed its first two rounds, and now we have the Top Four Armies of this month facing off against each other in the Semi Finals. The launch of this tournament definitely is one of the biggest moments of January. The fact that the two sides of our community agreed to come together for the sake of this much anticipated event just adds icing to the cake.

1. Templars Lose Empire to Water Vikings After Breaking Treaty Terms

Written by: DMT

On the 19th of January, a series of server transfers sent shockwaves through the army community.  It began with the Templars, who transferred all of their land to close allies, the People’s Imperial Confederation.  Then- just two minutes later- the Templars declared war on the Water Vikings.  This caused quite a stir between the leaders of the Water Vikings and the Templars, as declaring war was strictly prohibited between the two sides because of the Treaty of the Axe and the Sword.  Upon noticing the pandemonium occurring in the server transfers channel, the administration began discussing if the move was a violation of the aforementioned treaty.  Ultimately, it was agreed upon that the transfer were to be deemed invalid because the Templars transferred with intent to loophole out of the treaty; which goes against the 4th term.  This resulted in the golden knights giving up all 34 of their servers to their rivals.  Nevertheless, they attempted to declare war upon the Water Vikings again, but the war was deemed invalid because the treaty was still in place.  These decisions were met with great disdain from the Templars, who attempted to carry the war over to Club Penguin Army Network, but were rebuked by the administration there as well.  Thus, the Templars returned to the CPAHQ map empty handed.

Whether you agree with our listing or not, there is no doubt the month of January has been a very busy one for the community. As we now head into the second month of the new year, what can we expect to occur? And what moments will top our listings at the end of it?
