HALF PIPE, Golden Troops Capital – Following the recent retirements of notable Golden Troops leaders TheMightyA and Neha, as well as their departure from the league, the Golden Troops have held their final event as they bid farewell to their 9th reiteration.
Initially created from a merge between the Club Penguin Sun Troops and the Golden Warriors, the Golden Troops first commenced operations in March 2010. The current generation of the Golden Troops returned on March 20th, 2021 under the leadership of Kattle11. Since then, notable GT veterans as well as other prominent names in the S/M army community including TheMightyA, Neha and Simmonds2000 would join the army’s leadership, establishing the Golden Troops as a tenacious contender in the weekly Top 10s, partaking in wars with armies such as the Smart Penguins and most recently, the People’s Imperial Confederation.
On September 15th, 2021, in a post entitled “Goodbye For Now…” by leader Neha, it was announced that the Golden Troops would be going on hiatus, stating the main reason to be real life obligations for most of the army’s higher ups.
Well the main reason is we all have our lives to focus on. Like many of you, we are just high school/college students that need to focus on our education. These last couple of weeks we haven’t been able to put much energy into the army because we are all so preoccupied with our responsibilities. I’m going to be honest with y’all, we all clocked out from helping GT a while ago, we have been doing the bare minimum to keep it alive and we don’t want to drag this on any longer.
Neha quelled all doubts of a final farewell though, stating that they would be returning for a winter revival in the month of December before their final shut-down.
All targets that were wanted to be met this current generation, will be hit next generation. It will be totally different to any previous CPPS generation of Golden Troops. Tons of recruits will come in each week and maxes will be brought up so we can be successful. A lot is in store and many things have been spoken about and decided on, with lots more to come no doubt about that!
Optimistic in the future of the Golden Troops despite the announced hiatus, hinting at the possibility of a new leader as well as incoming staff, Neha proceeds to thank all their allies, ending with the announcement of a final event on October 2nd, 2021.
The announcement of the Golden Troops’ hiatus was preceded by the retirement of two notable leaders of the Golden Troops – TheMightyA on September 12th, 2021, and Neha, on September 13th, 2021.
Proceeding as scheduled, the Golden Troops would then hold their final event of the 9th generation on October 2nd, 2021, seeing 16 troops in attendance.
In the final event post, the Golden Troops once again promise to return in December.
Ultimately, we see one more army close their doors as a consequence of the September drop, though, unlike many others, it is evident that the leaders still have pending goals and wishes they wish to accomplish for the army at a later date. With a promised date of return as well as seemingly laid-out plans for the revival, it will be interesting to see whether the Golden Troops will be able to successfully return to army community and relive her former glory.
