Rusting Gold: TheMightyA Retires From the Golden Troops

KLONDIKE, CP Army HeadquartersOn the 12th of September, TheMightyA announced his official retirement from the Golden Troops, followed by the closure of the army he created and led, the Post Malone Army. What led to this decision?

TheMightyA began his career in December 2019, and has since since then made name for himself as a prominent leader within the S/M army community. Beginning his career in the Doritos of Club Penguin, he soon found himself ranked Third-in-Command of the army, until he left in April 2020 to revive the Golden Troops alongside Katie, Aggiepie, and Satchmo. Whilst he has stepped down and returned to the Golden Troops at multiple instances, his contributions to the army are irrefutable, with his nomination for S/M legend in the 2020 inductions for his work in the army.

TheMightyA’s 2020 Retirement Event

TheMightyA is also known for tenures in other armies such as the Water Wikings and Special Weapons And Tactics. He most recently returned to the Golden Troops’ leadership in early June 2021. Under his leadership, the Golden Troops have established themselves as a consistent contender within the weekly Top 10, showing their strength as a formidable force in the recent Challengers Cup 2.

On September 12th, 2021, in a rather unexpected turn of events, TheMightyA announced his retirement from the Golden Troops in a post entitled “We’ll Carry On | TheMightyA’s Retirement“, in which he states:

So why am I leaving now? Simple really, school’s back, and my focus is on more important things now, I don’t have time for this anymore. Mental Health, My Future, School, it sucks but I gotta have priorities

Thanking multiple friends he has met along the way, Mighty bids goodbye to the army, due to impending real life responsibilities as well as mental health.

Later on the same day, after Mighty’s announcement of his retirement from the Golden Troops, the Post Malone Army also announced their shut-down by co-leader Kattle11 in the following announcement:

The Post Malone Army was first created in late October 2020 under the leadership of TheMightyA. Originally beginning as a meme army, the PMA quickly became much more, recently finding themselves in the middle of war against the People’s Imperial Confederation

CPAHQ reached out to TheMightyA to get more information about this retirement and the closure of the Post Malone Army, as well as his future plans.

Why did you decide to retire from CPA?

School was coming back around, and combined with my mental health I just didn’t have time for armies anymore, no point of keeping a leader role if your not gonna be able to do anything with it

What do you think has been the highlight of your tenure in the Golden Troops?

We’ve made the major top ten several times with maxes of 20, and every time we do I’m always proud of our community for reaching that point

Why did you decide to shut down the Post Malone Army?

Well PMA wasn’t meant to be more than a joke army, so when it got involved with wars and way too many servers we didn’t feel it was necessary to keep it around anymore

Do you have any future plans currently?

Idk, I’m terrible at planning anything (ask kattle) we’ll just have to see when I get there

Are you planning to come back?

Maybe, depends if I have time in the future

Would you like to add anything else?

Hell will always be unleashed!

Reiterating his reason of retirement to be due to real life obligations, Mighty states that he was proud of what the army could achieve in his time. Explaining that the Post Malone Army was first inaugurated as a joke and has since then veered away from its original intentions, he further clarifies the reasoning behind their recent closure.

What do YOU think? Will TheMightyA return once more in the future? Does this mark the true end of the Post Malone Army – or will they come back in the future? Let us know YOUR thoughts in the comments section down below!
