Ice Warriors Celebrate 14 Years of Activity

KLONDIKE, CP Army Headquarters-  Legendary Army Ice Warriors Celebrates 14 years of activity! Let’s see how they decided to celebrate.

The Ice Warriors began with humble beginnings, being founded by future Club Penguin army legend Iceyfeet1234 in June of 2007. The army would quickly grow in prominence, with many regarding IW as one of the “Big Three” of the pre-CPPS army community, alongside the Army of Club Penguin and the Nachos. The dominance they exerted over the community only persisted and grew following their revival as a CPPS army, currently rivaling the Rebel Penguin Federation to be the considered the largest army of the modern era.

For 5 years from 2007 until his eventual retirement in 2012, Iceyfeet1234 stood strong as the sole leader of the Ice Warriors army, which is known to be the longest recorded solo leadership of any army to date. Under Icey’s leadership and his successors such as Albert417 and Kingfunks4 among others, the strength of the Ice Warriors remained impressive. Though the army had diplomatic ties with the Army of Club Penguin, assisting them on numerous occasions in the Black Alliance Wars, the Ice Warriors were known to be an isolationist army. Until the later ascension of the “Drew Crew” (Andrew24, Ghost, Spyguy202) to the leadership, the Ice Warriors rarely actively sought engagement in conflict with other armies.

March Madness Grand Final vs. ACP

In the modern CPPS era, the Ice Warriors have continued to demonstrate their powerhouse status. In the Ice Warrior’s recent years they have partaken in many battles and tournaments, most notably wars with Doritos such as the Black Ice Alliance War. Being historic enemies of the Doritos, following a controversial March Madness tournament last year in which both armies maxed 150, war was declared. After numerous invasions, the war never came to an official end, but a treaty was eventually signed. The Ice Warriors continue to prosper, having successfully won the 2021 March Madness tournament and featuring in first place on CPAHQ’s Top Tens on numerous occasions.

IW Anniversary Event

CP Army Headquarters was able to get a hold of IceyFeet1234 to find out more about the past of Ice Warriors.

What was the reason behind choosing the name Ice Warriors?

I wanted to pick a name that would be unique, and also that could revolve around the color blue. I know ice isn’t exactly blue but :Wary: it’s close enough, and it sounded pretty cool after thinking about it for a bit. No other armies had “warrior” in their name at the time, so IW became the first “warrior” army.

Since Ice Warriors was created, what’s been your favorite things about the army?

I can’t really think of one specific memory. I would say that the big tournament battles definitely stick out the most vividly. There is so much preparation that goes into those battles, so many people involved, so many moving parts. You get to truly see how well people communicate in the army, and how everyone (both active and retired) comes together to try to help the army bring home the victory. In addition, I would say there are some sad retirements that I can look back on, as well as some of our old anniversary events from years ago.

What can we see for the future of Ice Warriors?

The Ice Warriors will continue to live on for the foreseeable future. We want to continue to be a fun and active community for everyone. Looking back at the past year since we’ve reopened we have definitely achieved this goal, and we want to continue to achieve it and expand on it every year to come.

Do you have anything to let the community know?

Yes. Despite the differences in the CP army community (which can be healthy at times), people need to realize that at the end of the day we’re all here to have fun. I’ve been a part of this community for a very long time, and I’ve seen A LOT of changes over the years. But one thing that I notice that is quite repetitive, is that a lot of people tend to get lost in the constant same general cycle of CP Armies. What I mean by that is the basic events, battles, tournaments, etc. People shouldn’t be afraid to bring new ideas to the field. For example, why wait 3-4 months in between tournament cycles when we could also have mini-tournaments in between to keep things interesting. Or even have different types of battles, where we aren’t just having a 1v1s spamming emotes in a room for 10 minutes. In order for the community to stay alive and continue to grow, there need to be new ideas from new people that are passionate about what’s important, and that’s having fun.

Since their creation 14 years ago,  Ice Warriors will continue to dominate the army scene and  Top Ten. What can we expect to see from this powerhouse of an army in the future?

What do YOU think? Will the Warriors continue to be a powerhouse dominating the community? Let us know your thoughts down below!
