The Next Leader: Grace

KLONDIKE, CP Army Headquarters – Welcome to this week’s edition of the column ‘The Next Leader’! Every week, we interact with one of the future leaders of our community. Today we talk to Grace, a current Leader In Training in SWAT. What are her plans for leadership, and what can we expect to see from her?

Grace started her journey in armies in May 2020 as a One Direction Army troop. Later in July, she joined SWAT as a member. She rose to the leadership rank in the Directioners in August, leading alongside Aubz and Mare. In her time as a leader, she helped the army grow into a powerful small/medium army. However, she retired from leadership in October, only to return in November to help her home army. During this time, she also kept working hard and ranking up as a SWAT troop, eventually receiving a promotion to Leader In Training in December.

Grace continues to serve the army in her rank ever since she received it, showing her dedication and loyalty to the army. There is no doubt that she’ll continue with these positive traits when she steps into leadership. To find out more about her thoughts on leadership, the CP Army Headquarters team decided to interview her.

What is your favorite thing about armies?

My favorite thing about armies would have to be meeting new people from all over the world, and watching the new troops work hard to move up the ranks is one of the best things about being a part of armies. It’s great seeing how the new troops form friendships and impact the army as a whole.

If you become a leader tomorrow, what is one thing you would change in the army?

If I become a leader tomorrow, one of the first things I’d do is reform the Staff/Hcom responsibilities to maintain a highly organized structure so it would allow them to feel like they’re doing more than just simply recruiting, etc. Overall, SWAT is doing amazing under its current leadership.

What is your best memory of being in SWAT?

The large number of VCs we had during the fall is my best memory of being in SWAT. Everyone in SWAT was able to grow close to one another due to the VCs, where we would get together and talk about the funniest things all night.

It seems like Grace enjoys being in SWAT and is ready to make some changes within the army. With all the friends she’s made since joining the community, she’s here to stay.

What do YOU think? Do you think Grace is ready for SWAT leadership? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section below!
